The Olympus Warmblood

The Olympus Warmblood is a rare Greek breed that dates back to the days of Ancient Greece. Recorded as having been handcrafted by Zeus himself, the breed features many similarities with Skyros Ponies, Barbs and the extinct Tarpan and Turkmene horses.

An athletic, tall horse, with powerful shoulders and long, straight legs renowned for their speed and stamina. Colts are more common than fillies. There is a slight difference between male and female horses, the female horses have a slightly lighter frame and can reach faster speeds and have more agility than the males, who are of a slightly heavier build.

The few remaining pure, true to type Olympus Warmbloods live on the hills of Mount Olympus. These horses only truly seem to flourish whilst they are maturing in this area, and those who are born outside of Mount Olympus seem to lack the height and struggle to mantain and reach the speed of the horses bred and raised on Mount Olympus.

The Madigan is working with conservation of the breed, and owns several stallions currently roaming Mt. Olympus, Argo, Herakles, Patroclus and Achilles.

At this time, The Madigan has yet to find a mare or filly.
